Our Vision

“Driving Tomorrow’s Stars”

Our vision is to help guide Canadian open wheel drivers to assist them in reaching their dreams in motorsports. This is one step in building this racing ladder for Canadian drivers, but it gives them their first taste of international competition, in a car with different tires, chassis, and engines, from what they are used to here in Canada. It forces drivers to quickly adapt, learn and embrace new challenges.

To this point, Team Canada Scholarship has been made possible solely through the hard efforts of the team at Brian Graham Racing. But, with the assistance of other like-minded motorsports enthusiasts, we have now begun to expand the vision of what is possible.

These include:

  • Transitioning to a structured stand-alone non-profit organization in partnership with Road To Racing (R2R)
  • Creating a selection committee of prominent motorsports individuals to evaluate and choose Team Canada participants
  • Create a “Shootout” event for the purpose of evaluating Canadian talent
  • Our future expansion plans for the program will be to allow two drivers to participate in Formula Ford Festival and the Walter Hayes Trophy Race. By giving an opportunity to race on consecutive weekends, our drivers will have acclimatized to the cars, their team, and new tires and compete for a podium.
  • Expand fundraising activities and corporate participation

Team Canada Scholarship (TCS) is pleased to announce that Graham Brunton Racing (GBR) will be our host team for the Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy race for 2022.

The Knockhill based multi championship winning team has had plenty of success in the National Formula Ford competition and will provide valuable driver development and motorsport logistics to TCS drivers Jake Cowden and Kevin Foster. As this will be our 10th year heading to the UK, being in a Ray chassis and continuing our long-term relationship with Gavin Ray is very important to us.

“GBR will be our new home this year when we get to England in October”, says TCS Founder and Director, Brian Graham. “GBR has always had well prepared cars and runs a very professional program. We are looking forward to building a relationship with Graham and his team.”

“The Team Canada Scholarship is a fantastic initiative, and we are so proud to announce being part of it for 2022” says GBR Team Owner, Graham Brunton. “The work put in behind the scenes to find and nurture young talent is something we are also passionate about which is why we believe this new partnership is going to be great for everyone involved. Everyone at Team GBR are looking forward to seeing how the shootouts go, and to hitting the ground running when the finalists come to the UK in October.”

TCS will be contending in the BRSCC Formula Ford Festival (October 22/23), one of the world’s greatest and most competitive single-seater competitions and the Walter Hayes Trophy (Nov 5/6), which boasts some of the busiest grids with drivers from around the world.
