Alex Berg

Alex started his racing career in 2015, following in the footsteps of his father, who made a career in racing as a driver for over 25 years, and raced for a brief period in Formula 1. He raced regionally in Alberta winning a club and Provincial Championship before moving up to National Kart racing in Canada and the USA in 2018.

Alex was selected by Mazda Motorsports to compete in the 2020 Mazda Spec MX-5 “Karts to Cars” Shootout and won the shootout being the youngest driver at age 14.

In 2021 Alex finished P2 in the championship with 3 race wins, 3 pole positions and 5 podiums. It was a very successful season for his debut in cars.

In 2022 he raced in both the Spec MX-5 Challenge and the F4 US Championship with great success, finishing 3rd overall in the National Championship for Spec MX-5 Challenge and finishing 5th in the F4 US Championship.

In 2023, Alex has been racing in the F4 US Championship and is currently 4th in the standings.  He has a large variety of experience racing in various types of cars such as Mazda MX-5 Cup Cars, Elan DP-02 Prototype, 2001 Lola T97/20 Indy Lights, BMW M2 CS, Piper F1600 and Spectrum F1600.

In his spare time, he also is a paid test driver for Ligier Automotive and is currently focusing on the development work for the much-anticipated Ligier JSF4-22, which will race in the F4 US Championship in 2024 and beyond.
